CSTA’s 97th Annual Meeting will take place online for the first time ever! While we are disappointed not to connect with our members in person in Winnipeg, we look forward to offering our annual business meeting and committee meetings virtually this year.
The Annual General Meeting will take place online on Wednesday, July 15 from 1 – 3:30 pm EST. The first part of the meeting will feature remarks from President Georges Chaussé and CSTA staff members, along with the usual approvals of minutes and finances. The second part of the meeting will focus on the Seed Synergy Collaboration Project, outlining the next steps and answering member questions.
CSTA’s Commitee Meetings will take place in the days and weeks leading up to July 15. All CSTA Committee meetings will be available to attend online and will be open to all interested in participating.
The Seed Synergy Collaboration Project (SSCP) was formed to develop the vision for the next generation seed system in Canada, including the creation of a new National Seed Organization (NSO). The SSCP consists of six major national seed industry organizations, five of which are proposing to amalgamate. Details will be sent directly to CSTA members explaining how and when to vote. CSTA members will be able to vote electronically or by mail. ALL members can vote, including affiliate, associate, and honorary life members. If you have any questions please contact us.
CSTA’s Committees have always been a hallmark of the Annual Meeting. Since this year’s AGM will take place online, there is an opportunity to host more committee meetings than usual, and in a more accessible format. The committee meetings will take place in the style of a podcast, with an overarching theme of “Past, Present, Future”. The full schedule is below. Members will be able to access each session via a Zoom link – details coming soon!
